All About the Current Generation Audi A4 Sedan

The current generation Audi A4 is marketed in Avant (wagon), Cabriolet (convertible), and in sedan configurations, and the Audi A4 sedan is perhaps the strongest and the most popular contender in the A4 lineup.

The A4 wagons and sedans are presently in their 4th generation. In comparison to early models, present A4 sedan provides spacious interior room, hi-tech gadgetry, and upgraded driving dynamics. Despite the popularity of A4 sedans, Convertible A4s were not manufactured in the 4th generation present platforms, so Audi continues to sell 3rd generation models.

Engine and Transmission

The Audi A4 sedan is currently available in 2 engines: a 3.2-liter V6 that produces 265 hp and a turbocharged 2.0-liter that churns out 211 horsepower. The sedan is available with the 2.0-liter engine. The majority A4s enters conventional with a six-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s Quattro AWD system, though a 4WD four-cylinder version is available.

Audi A4 Sedan versus A4 Cabriolet

Similar to A4 sedan, the A4 Cabriolet gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder and a 3.2-liter V6 engine. Unfortunately, these two engines provide lower power levels of 200 hp and 255 hp, respectively. A4 convertibles are equipped with 4WD and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a choice of six-speed automatic transmission, and Quattro AWD.

The present generation Audi A4 sedan as well as wagon models are available in 3 trim levels: top-line Prestige, Premium Plus, and Premium, and the navigation system is provided as an optional feature in all the variants.
